I joined Platfora to build out a custom data visualization rendering engine, based on my learnings from MeteorCharts and KineticJS. I named the data visualization engine Aurora, and it was a core component of the Platfora offering. It was like Tableau but better, and web based. It was super performant as well - it could handle over a million interactive data points. It was based on HTML5 Canvas. The acquisition of Platfora by Workday was in part for the Aurora rendering engine tech, and after the Workday acquisition, Aurora ultimately replaced all of the data visualization capabilities at Workday.
